Parker’s
Paragraph.

Welcome
to Loughborough Students Athletics Club all you fresher-like people. This is the peoples club! Well actually it’s the athletes club but I
like to sound inspiring.
This
year I was lucky enough to be elected into the position of Track and Field
Captain for the men’s team, something I have always wanted to do since before I
came to
Unfortunately
2002 has not been a great year for me but I intend to put that right this year
and I also intend to thoroughly enjoy my final year at this great sporting
establishment. My message is one from
experience. Don’t take things too
seriously as not only does the sport cease to become enjoyable (the main reason
we all do it in the first instance), but university quickly passes you by and
before you know it you will be looking for a job or you will stick around, do a
PhD, and feel like a parent when you next spin up at the union (or echoes).
Just
to let you know that I am approachable so needless to say that I am always on
hand to give any help and advice to people who want to benefit from my vast
knowledge of all subjects (such as javelin), I don’t really know a lot else.
I
don’t want to carry on because the chances are by the time you read this you
will all be severely under the influence of what is known as alcohol, something
athletes really shouldn’t know a lot about (well the real ones anyway!!!).
Take
it easy and have a fantastic evening.
Christmas comes but once a year so make the most of it. For the post grads that are here (that is the
father and mother figures) look after the youngsters, finalists make the most
of your final year, second years well…unlucky and for the freshers just get
p****d and enjoy as you are only a first year once.
Cheers
everybody
David.
